The idea for taking women on adventure trips was conceived on a jeep in Sedona, Arizona in 1996, and we’ve been delivering kick ass active vacations ever since! We love Sedona in all her glory and offer organized tours for women in the gorgeous red rocks of Arizona. But wait, there’s more! We also offer amazing adventures all over this beautiful world! Iceland your thing? How about Peru? New Zealand? Italy? All over the USA too!
Our company is women-owned and women-led. The company of women is good for our souls!
Our trips are all-inclusive, multi-activity, with great food, and we always have a comfortable place to relax and absorb the spirit of a region, and to immerse ourselves in local culture. We become road sisters, explorers, comediennes, like-minded, spirited women that laugh and enjoy our time together. Many new found road sisters return on trips with women they met on a previous adventure. We are a community of FUN and globally-minded friends, or soon to be friends.
Regarding activities, our first concern is safety. There are many different ways to raft a river, trek a glacier or zip line. The outfitters we partner with are the best in the region, the most safety-oriented, totally familiar with all local conditions, and are certified and licensed. Our all-women Trip Leaders (we call them Rock Stars!) are fully trained experienced and terrific fun. Some women choose trips by who is leading the trip – they’re that great! And, you don’t have to go to the gym to enjoy our adventures.
Small groups mean small groups! The last thing a Canyon Calling guest wants is to feel like she’s on a bus tour. Therefore, twelve is our limit on any trip and most of our groups are eight to ten. We want everyone to feel special and attended to, and we’ve found that these numbers work well. This is also a benefit for safe distancing and following our health and safety guidelines.
Women of all ages are welcome (18+). One of the best things about our trips is the multi-generational sharing that takes place, so we encourage all ages to participate. Mother/daughter, sisters, co-workers, partners, and spouses – all women are welcome. With that said, our average guest’s age is 45 to 65 years young.
A well-planned adventure trip should have high-energy experiences followed by the chance to rest. We often schedule an activity earlier in the day and then travel to a new location in the afternoon. We carve out time for shopping or exploring on your own on the occasions when we are in towns.
At Canyon Calling, we’re here to serve you and to make your vacation the best it can be. Our focus is on providing multi-activity adventure trips for women. It’s hard to maintain a quality product by trying to be all things to all people – so that’s not us. With that said, we do lead private trips upon request for a group of women colleagues, your book club or tennis group, etc. to the destinations on our Trip Calendar.
Just give us a call or email us! Which trip are you?!
